Waldheim Forest Walk

This walk is one of the easiest and shortest walks in the Cradle Mountain and it goes up to the Waldheim Chalet through a boardwalk. This walk is located at the northern entrance of the park.

The walk starts from the Roney Carpark (the second last stop on the shuttle bus) and gives an amazing taste of the Cradle Mountain vegetation.

This circuit walk takes about 90 minutes to complete with no real hikes so its suitable for every age and fitness level.

The unusual native deciduous beech - spot the wallaby on the photo

This was the first walk I did in the area, and as I had limited time, this was the only bit I have tasted on my first visit.

But I could not wait for too long so I returned to the area a month later - different weather conditions, somewhat different view- and stayed for couple of days just to see as much as I can.

Hello

My name is Katalin and I have been traveling in China and Australia (on and off) for three years now. I can’t stand travel agencies - totally disagree with their principle of keeping the “secret of how to travel” to themselves and I love traveling on my own.

My favourite way of traveling is by public transport, I do it usually with minimal planning and just let the locals “drive” me to the spots.

This site is my experience of how to travel with no agency in China and the places I think worth for a visit in both Tasmania and Victoria, Australia.

If I am not exploring you can find me hiking somewhere in the mountains / bushes or taking photos. Oops, wait a second that’s exploring too
