Jiuzhaigou Valley

The local people of Jiuzhaigou Valley call these lakes ‘Haizi', meaning little sea in Chinese

High in the Min Mountains of China’s Sichuan province rare plants and animals find sanctuary in the Jiuzhaigou National Park, a green reserve bumped up against the Tibetan Plateau.

Formed in large part by glacial avalanching, this water brings Jiuzhaigou Valley its most enchanting views, which is the soul of the place.

The mirror dropped to the ground into the human world and shattered into 114 shimmering turquoise lakes that became the numerous lakes in Jiuzhagou..
