Lushan Mountain
This scenic mountain range which is famous in China for its scenery and beauty and for its its history. Hundred-year old stone villas well-preserved built for foreign missionaries and businessmen, once a famed religious mountain, and historical role in the lives of China’s communist leaders.
Today, it’s a perfect hiking place.
Mount Lu or Lushan (simplified Chinese: 庐山) is situated in the northern part of Jiangxi Province in Central China and is one of the most renowned mountains in the country.
The oval-shaped mountains are about 25 km long and 10 km wide, and near to Nanchang City toward the south. The mountain is renowned for its grandeur, and elegance. In 1996, Lushan Mountain was included in the UNESCO world heritage list, the best known of Lushan tourist attractions
The mountain is also an educational base and religious center of ancient China and is home to the country's oldest academy. The Bailudong Academy was founded in 940 and is one of China's four most prestigious academies.
Lushan Mountain is (in)famous for it’s high number of foggy days:
The average annual number of foggy days is 210 (!) so it’s a rather challenge to get those super clear scenery pictures.
And guess what? the world famous Lushan Clouds and Mist tea is also grown up here in the mountains.
Lu Shan is an awesome place to hike or walk. Most of the trails are paved and have stone stairs, and for those intrepid hikers there’s certainly more than enough terrain and steep climbs to make you feel like you’re getting a rather good workout.
