Xinjiang Province

Xinjiang in Chinese means “a new border” and it has had its name since the 18th century during the Qing dynasty. Located in the North West of China, Xinjiang does not only have beautifully chromatic desert, blue sky with elegant white clouds or all year round snow capped mountains.

This is the only place in China where you see both Turkic-looking Uyghurs, blond blue-eyed Tajiks, mosques and Zoroastrian temples coexisting alongside each other.
